Im Reich der Schatten

Rheinisches Landesmuseum Trier (DE)

Trier (DE)

2010

For the Rheinisches Landesmuseum Trier, we have brought around 50 monumental Roman tombs and wall reliefs in the museum's Graves Boulevard to life in a unique way. With the help of advanced technology, the quiet museum space is transformed into an immersive and medial film theatre several times a day. Inspired by the ancient Roman Comedy, the centuries-old original exhibits became the canvas for our 360° film production and the room was transformed into a talking space.

About

By combining audio play and imagery, visitors witness an emotional spectacle for 45 minutes that impressively reflects the goings-on in ancient Rome. Together with the team of archaeologists, we developed the story about gods and people from the representations on the tombstones. They show the immortality of history, which lives on in the memories of posterity right up to the present.
