Arabian Journeys

Saudi Aramco

Dhahran (SA)

2018

In Dhahran on the Persian Gulf, where Saudi Arabia's first oil well was discovered, the futuristic King Abdulaziz Center of World Culture stands like a monument to the treasure that made the country rich. The 1,000 m² exhibition space "Arabian Journeys" developed by Atelier Brückner tells the story of the largest country on the Arabian Peninsula.

Our media productions convey a hitherto little-known Saudi Arabia to visitors from all over the world. Immersive and interactive, visitors can virtually travel through the state, over land and under water, and become part of the impressive landscape and its unique habitats, which are the focus of the exhibition.

About

Artistic panorama-style projections connect and envelop visitors, allowing them to discover first by themselves, and later together, the cultural identity of Saudi Arabia. The spectacular spatial projections are interactive, and visitors can influence their course by touching them. The variation between cinematic immersion and real exhibits, together with an exhibition design and interactive furniture pieces which have been individually adapted to the natural spaces depicted, adds to the overall atmosphere.

The end of the exhibition focuses on the future of Saudi Arabia and the paths that can lead the country to a prosperous future.
