Digitaler Zukunftsraum

Ludwig-Erhard-Zentrum

Fürth (DE)

2018

The life and work of the German "father of the social market economy" is documented in a permanent exhibition at the Ludwig Erhard Center (LEZ) in Fürth, Germany. In cooperation with the Berlin-based exhibition architects NEO.STUDIO, we developed and staged the DIGITAL FUTURE SPACE, with the aim of engaging especially younger visitors in complex political and socio-economic contexts and encouraging them to interact with the visual staging.

About

With projections on a 15-meter-long by 3.5-meter-high surface, visitors are playfully introduced to the four dynamic economic themes of demographic change, globalization, digitalization and sustainability.

A fun quiz format lowers the threshold for visitors to take the initiative. Participation thus takes the place of pure observation. Several market participants present their different perspectives on various topics and, in this way, visitors can playfully examine their own position, for example on the future of the social market economy.

Before leaving the exhibition, visitors have the opportunity to leave their self-portrait and a personal message for virtual posterity at the FUTURE FACE installation. Visitors are invited to take a photo of themselves at a large-format touch screen which is overlaid and placed in the context of the future, together with a typed wish for the digital tomorrow. These images become a very special souvenir which visitors can send to themselves via email.
