Interactive LED Wall: A Day in Riyadh

Arriyadh Development Authority

New York (USA)

2016

In 2016, high-ranking diplomats from 193 countries met at the UN General Assembly in New York to discuss the economic, ecological, urban and social development of Saudi Arabia with experts for five days. For this event, we were commissioned by Boris Micka Associates to create a 24-metre long LED panorama wall, with which we opened a window onto this country which is unknown to many, showcasing its traditions and cultures.

About

At a highly frequented junction of the UN building, we installed an interactive panorama of the capital of the largest state on the Arabian Peninsula as part of the event "A Day in Riyadh".
When visitors approached the wall, citizens from Riyadh appeared and told very personal, sometimes emotional stories from their everyday lives: students, entrepreneurs, athletes, journalists, engineers, architects, doctors, professors and pupils gave insights into their lives in Riyadh and created a picture of a modern, pulsating metropolis with many facets.
