MANGANELLI IRRLÄUFE

TU Berlin | Master of Arts Stage Design | Scenography | 2008

The students of the master class stage design/scenography were asked to develop individual room installations based on Giorgio Manganelli’s short story “Gone Astray. 100 novels in pill-shape“.
It was totally up to them to decide what they wanted to do: a spatial installation designed for just one room or an exhibition comprising several rooms.

Lecturer: Charlotte Tamschick

Following an opening lecture given by Charlotte Tamschick the seminar was organized in three compact courses and culminated in a final presentation.

Course One “From Small to Large to Small: From Idea to Result” dealt with methods for research and analysis of project development.

Course Two focused on how conceptual ideas can be described and substantiated.

In Course Three the students learnt how to translate these ideas into scenographic images und a dramaturgy. The students recorded their findings in individual and complex project books, which contained sketches, collages, photos, quotations, and texts.
